RON NORMAN works with metals-----new, recycled, polished, rusty steel, old fence wire, brass, copper, steel plate, box tubing, re-bar, old horseshoes, and parts from old cars or machinery. His works range from a few inches to over 30 feet------from ounces to hundreds of pounds.
RON NORMAN’S work is dramatic and intense, whimsical and playful, lifelike and contemporary. Much of RON NORMAN’S art is influenced by the environment in which he lives and grew up-----on Lopez Island. A small island in the archipelago of the San Juan Islands, in the northwest corner of Washington State. These islands are made up of more than 200 islands, just a stone’s throw to Canada.
RON NORMAN is a
fourth generation Lopez Islander. Ron’s
interest and connection to Native American culture goes back further than his
memory and is deep in his ancestry.
The photos that you see here
are just a sample of some of RON NORMAN’S work.
All of Ron’s work is individually designed and created. Some of these pieces have been sold and are displayed
in private collections or in public places.
